The R. Howard Dobbs, Jr. Foundation is a private, independent 501(c)(3) based in Atlanta, GA. The Foundation’s mission is  “to improve the quality of life for individuals, families, and communities by supporting educational opportunities, improving access to health services, and promoting environmental stewardship.”

The Foundation now seeks to engage an external consultant to design a comprehensive impact investing strategy and develop an implementation framework. We seek firms or individuals with demonstrated expertise in:

  • Advising private foundations on integrated grantmaking + investment strategies
  • Designing strategies for impact investing across asset classes, including PRIs, MRIs, and thematic funds across health, education, and environment
  • Leading educational workshops and stakeholder facilitation
  • Developing impact measurement frameworks and financial modeling 

 The Foundation intends to work with a consulting partner to help advance the following three project objectives:

  • By September 2026: Build a shared understanding of impact investing through three workshops, curated learning materials, and two peer sessions.
  • By November 2026: Design a written impact investing strategy with allocation scenarios, targets for PRIs, MRIs, and ESG, financial benchmarks, impact goals, and tracking metrics aligned with payout and liquidity needs. 
  • By January 2027: Design a governance and implementation framework with key documents, decision-making processes, and a rollout plan to activate the strategy in 2027.
